Crafted with Passion
Every piece that comes into the shop has a story worth keeping. Some of it is in the grain, some of it is in the repairs somebody made eighty years ago. The work is deciding what to keep and what to put right, and that judgement is 35 years in the making, 24 of them in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Traditional methods where they matter, modern ones where they are genuinely better. Veneer relaid and carving cut to match the original, finishes mixed to the colour the piece already wears.

Wood, finish, fabric and mechanism, all under one roof. Bring the piece, or photographs of it, and we will tell you honestly what it needs.
Veneer repair · Custom carving · Wood repair & stabilising · Colour matching
Period pieces brought back without erasing their age. Veneer relaid, carving let in, colour matched to what is already there.
Joint regluing · Parts cut to match · Welding & soldering · Glass & curved glass
Structural work. Loose joints taken apart and reglued square, split rails repaired, missing parts cut to match the originals.
Stripping & refinishing · Painted finishes · Colour matching · Marble, granite & ceramic
Old finishes revived where they can be and rebuilt by hand where they cannot, matched to what the piece originally wore.
Caning & rush · Fabric · Leather · Seats rebuilt
Down to the frame and back up again, in your fabric or leather, or one chosen with you.
Clock movements · Phonographs & radios · Jukeboxes & sewing machines · Recliner mechanisms
The half of the piece that moves. Clock movements, phonograph and radio works, jukeboxes and recliner mechanisms, not only the cabinets around them.
Built to dimension · Sofas & hardwood frames · Hand carving · Fabric & finish
Built to your dimensions when the right piece does not exist. Hardwood frames, joined the way the antiques on the next bench are joined.
From the shop
A few of the pieces that have come through the shop on Regency Drive.
Upholstery
Two carved armchairs, stuffing hanging out of both, re-covered in a crewel-pattern fabric.
Refinishing
A waterfall chest with the finish gone cloudy and grey, refinished so the matched veneer shows again.
Caning
Seat cane gone through in the middle. Rewoven by hand, and the back left as it was.
Restoration
Slats broken, lid split, hardware missing. Rebuilt and refitted with brass.
Clock Case
A pale oak-toned case taken to a deep, even dark finish, the dial and hood cleaned.
Refinishing
Blonde and tired, refinished a deep brown with new drawer pulls.
The process
Four steps, and most of the first one happens without the piece leaving your house.
The whole piece, then the damage close up, then any maker’s mark or label. Rough dimensions help. Most estimates begin and end here.
What the piece is, what has already been done to it, and what it needs. Sometimes the answer is that it needs very little, and we say so.
Joints apart and back together, surfaces built up by hand, upholstery down to the frame. You hear from us if anything under the surface changes the plan.
Collected from the shop in Wylie, or delivered. The piece goes home reading as itself, not as new.
Where we work
The shop is on Regency Drive in Wylie, off Highway 78. Pieces come to us from across Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties. Call before you load anything into a car and we will tell you whether it needs to travel at all.
Begin
The whole thing, the damage close up, any maker’s mark. Send them over and we will tell you what the piece needs.
